Introductory Analytical Chemistry – Fall 2022
Created and presented a poster regarding metal detoxification in sharks. Presented the poster “Metal concentrations and metallothionein metal detoxification in blue sharks, Prionace glauca L. from the Western North Atlantic Ocean” publicly as part of my CHEM 2100 lecture.
TRU URIC Conference – Winter 2023
Created and presented a poster from my Directed Studies locally at the 2023 TRU Undergraduate Research & Innovation Conference. My poster presentation was titled “Determination of Uric Acid in Human Saliva using Capillary Electrophoresis”.
WCUCC Conference – Summer 2023
Travelled to Edmonton, AB to give a poster and oral presentation on my directed studies at the 35th Western Canadian Undergraduate Chemistry Conference. Both the presentations were titled “Determination of Uric Acid in Human Saliva using Capillary Electrophoresis”. Connected and networked with other students and faculty from all over Canada.
Human Physiology II Research Project – Winter 2024
Developed and conducted a research study with human participants determining the effects on dietary nitrate on oxygen consumption efficiency during exercise. The data from the study was recorded, analyzed, and presented orally.
Strike the Match – Winter 2024
Spearheaded the development of the inaugural Strike the Match event to bridge the gap of connecting to a faculty supervisor for aspiring and curious researchers. Highlighted in a blog post and was able to host over 80 excited participants in the first ever Strike the Match event at TRU.
